The name まめしば is a pun from the words "bean", the word for a toy shiba inu, and "trivia" (まめ、
まめしば、and まめちしき). These "bean dogs" tell trivia to the people who unexpectedly find them, normally disturbing the people after they hear the strange fact.

There are many different まめしばs, all different types of bean-shaped food ranging from peas to coffee beans to jelly beans.  This site plays other videos, but these do not have English subtitles!
